WHAT IS ORACLE PRODUCTIONS? A nondenominational ensemble of Christian artists dedicated to reaching audiences with the good news of Jesus Christ by the production of original works in the performing arts.
"...and without a parable, He did not speak to them."
(Matt. 13:34) WHY DRAMA? Drama is one of the oldest art forms. Historians tell us that drama actually predates written language—men would return to their dwellings at the end of a hunt, gather around the fire, and reenact the day's events for their families' entertainment. Interestingly, most of us still gather as a family each evening for "story time", although we’ve traded the orange glow of a cook fire for the flickering light of a television screen.
In short, human beings have always loved stories—we seem to be positively hard-wired for them—which is perhaps why Jesus chose to communicate the vast majority of His teaching through parables (fictional stories used to illustrate spiritual truths).
At Oracle, it's our conviction that the best way to teach the Gospel is by the same method employed by the Master Himself. In today’s entertainment-driven culture, we believe that now, more than ever, there's a need to show the life and teachings of Christ in a way that modern audiences will recognize and respond to.
